Left to Right: Senior Pastor Kevin Chiarot,
Assistant Pastor Mark Diedrich
Westminster is a church of long-term pastorates. The Reverend J. R. Thompson was installed as the founding minister of Westminster in 1854 and served the people faithfully for 62 years. The Reverend J. L . Vance served at Westminster from July 1973 to July 2014.
The Reverend Kevin Chiarot, senior pastor, was installed in January 2014. Pastor Chiarot, his wife of thirty years, Cheryl, and his six children, began attending Westminster in 1991. With the exception of six years in Texas (1993-1999), they were members until 2006, at which time he took the call in Jackson, Tennessee. Rev. Chiarot considers himself a son of Westminster Church whose fundamental approach to the pastoral ministry has been profoundly shaped by Pastor Vance. Rev. Chiarot has a B.S. in Engineering from Villanova University, an M.A. in Theology from Reformed Theological Seminary, and a Ph.D. from the University of Aberdeen (Scotland) in Systematic Theology. He is the author of Shepherding the Wind: Sermons in Ecclesiastes, and a forthcoming work on the humanity of Christ.
The Reverend Mark Diedrich, assistant pastor, was installed in 2005. Born and raised in New York State, he directed a Christian retreat center, and pastored a church in central Illinois prior to coming here. He has a Pastoral Diploma from Moody Bible Institute; and M. Div. and Th. M. degrees from Princeton Seminary. Pastor Diedrich and his wife Karen have four children - Jeremiah, Hannah, Rachel, and Leah.
